This year, networks and streamers are making every effort to impress with seasonal programming that offers something for everyone-whether you’re into magic, campy classics or nightmare fuel. Here are a few highlights from this year’s crop of shows.
Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween
Freeform knows how to do October right. Their 31 Nights of Halloween is back, bringing you family favorites and gothic classics all month long.

AMC’s FearFest
If you live for horror marathons, FearFest is your October destination. AMC’s lineup is horror heaven, running all month with iconic slashers, supernatural scares, and cult favorites.
Franchise marathons include:
- Halloween
- Friday the 13th
- Final Destination
- A Nightmare on Elm Street
And that’s just the start. You’ll also catch gems like The Shining, IT, Trick ‘r Treat, The Lost Boys, The Exorcist, The Thing, and way more. It is wall-to-wall frights.
HBO/Max Halloween Hub
Stephen King fans, this one’s for you. HBO/Max is leaning into all things Derry, Maine this year:
- IT & IT Chapter Two – Catch parts 1 and 2 of Stephen King’s scary tale of Pennywise the clown stalking the children of Derry, Maine.
- IT: Welcome to Derry – A chilling prequel series exploring the town’s cursed history.
Other highlights include The Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, Midsommar and Stephen King’s Misery.
Netflix’s Spooky Season
Netflix is mixing fresh frights with buzzy originals this fall:
- The Fall of the House of Usher – From the creators of The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, this Edgar Allan Poe-inspired series is creepy, stylish, and perfect for bingeing in the dark.
- Goosebumps (new series) – A fun, spooky throwback with just enough chills for both teens and nostalgic adults.
- Classic horror staples like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and 28 Days Later round out their catalog.
Disney+ Hallowstream
For something lighter (and kid-approved), Disney+ has its annual Hallowstream collection with magical favorites:
- Hocus Pocus 2 – In case you missed Salem’s Sanderson comeback.
- Halloweentown Collection– A 90’s Disney Channel classic franchise starring Kimberly J. Brown.
- The Nightmare Before Christmas – The ultimate Halloween-to-Christmas bridge movie.
- Coco – a visually stunning flick that takes place on the eve of Dia de los Muertos. Bring tissues but also be ready to be dazzled by beautiful visuals and a soundtrack as catchy as it is heartfelt.
Perfect for family movie nights—or when you want to relive your childhood faves.
Peacock’s Halloween Horror Hub
Peacock is leaning hard into slashers this year with a stellar lineup:
- The Terrifier Franchise – Yes, Art the clown in all his terrifying glory.
- Scream – Catch 1996’s horror classic from Wes Craven about a masked killer stalking the teens of the fictional Woodsboro, CA.
- Friday the 13th– Catch this horror classic about a group of camp counselors being stalked by an unknown assailant at Camp Crystal Lake.
- Plus, classics like Psycho and Phantasm for true horror fans.
From Freeform’s feel-good classics to AMC’s horror gauntlet and fresh streaming drops on Netflix and Disney+, your Halloween watchlist is officially sorted. All that’s left to do is light some candles, grab your favorite blanket, and decide whether you’re in the mood for witches, clowns, or chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
Happy haunting, friends!
