This California Job Applicant Privacy Statement (“Statement”) describes how Mediacom Communications Corporation ("Mediacom," "our," “we,” or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you apply for a position with Mediacom. This Statement is not a contract of employment, and if you are a party to an employment contract, this Statement is not part of your contract.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE USED
The personal information identified above will only be used or disclosed in relation to your application for employment with Mediacom, as described below.
Internal Use Within Mediacom
To operate as a national business, it may be necessary to process applicant information within Mediacom. This may involve transferring applicant information outside your state or country of residence (to the US for non-US residents). Processing and/or transfer of applicant information and release of information within Mediacom and/or to service providers or third parties outside your state or country of residence is subject to applicable law and, where required, will be subject to your consent and to ensuring adequate security measures.
Mediacom uses your personal information internally for reasons such as:
- To process your application for employment and determine your qualifications for employment with Mediacom.
- To determine progress toward internal/external affirmative action and diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
- To comply with government-mandated reporting requirements.
Disclosure to Service Providers
It may be necessary to disclose certain employee information to service providers or related contractors that supply services which require the use and/or creation of personal information.
Mediacom discloses your personal information to a service provider for the following business purposes:
- To conduct drug screenings, as necessary.
- To perform other applicant tasks.
Disclosure to other Third Parties
Mediacom may have to disclose certain applicant information to third parties such as legal advisors, law enforcement agencies, or governmental/regulatory bodies in order to protect our legal interests and other rights, protect against fraud or other illegal activities, for risk management purposes, and to comply with our legal obligations.
HOW LONG WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE KEPT
Mediacom will retain applicant data and personal information for the length of time required by federal and/or state law, or, if there is no requirement, Mediacom will keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to achieve the purpose(s) for which it was collected.
DO WE SELL OR SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
No, we do not sell or share your personal information.
DO WE USE YOUR SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO DERIVE CHARACTERISTICS ABOUT YOU?
No, we do not use your sensitive personal information to derive characteristics about you.
APPLICANT RIGHTS
You are encouraged to ensure that the applicant information you provide to Mediacom is kept up to date and amend any information which is inaccurate or out of date (e.g. address).
If you disagree with the accuracy or completeness of any applicant information, and wish to rectify it, or you wish to exercise your rights of cancellation or objections, please notify mydataprivacyrights@mediacomcc.com. Mediacom will endeavor to resolve any issues concerning your personal information in accordance with relevant procedures.
Where applicable law provides, you may have a right of access to the information that Mediacom holds about you, such as the source of the data, the purpose for which it has been collected, processed and transferred, and the recipients of such data. Specific Rights for Applicants who are California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act and its implementing regulations (collectively,
“CCPA”) California residents have the following rights:
Right to Know Personal Information Collected
You have the right to request that Mediacom disclose the following information about its collection and use of your personal information:
- The categories of personal information we have collected about you.
- The categories of sources from which your personal information was collected.
- Our business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling or sharing your personal information.
- The categories of third parties to whom we disclosed your personal information.
- The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
- If we sold or shared your personal information or disclose it to a service provider for a business purpose.
Right to Correct Personal Information Maintained
You have the right to request that Mediacom correct inaccurate personal information that it maintains about you. Right to Delete Personal Information
You have the right to request that Mediacom delete, subject to certain exceptions, any of your personal information that it collected from you. We may deny a deletion request, or refrain from deleting certain personal information, if retaining the personal information is reasonably necessary for us or our service provider(s) to:
- Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated by you within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
- Help to ensure security and integrity to the extent use of your personal information is reasonably necessary and proportionate for those purposes.
- Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
- Exercise free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law.
- Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 et. seq.).
- Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research that conforms or adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the business’s deletion of the information is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the ability to complete such research, if you previously provided informed consent.
- Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with Mediacom and compatible with the context in which you were provided the information.
- Comply with a legal obligation.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against a California resident applicant for exercising their rights under the CCPA or CPRA, including but not limited to:
- Denying goods or services.
- Charging different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Providing a different level or quality of goods or services.
- Suggesting that you will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
How you can Exercise your CCPA Rights
To exercise the rights above, please submit a request to us by using the following: mydataprivacyrights@mediacomcc.com. Please use
“Employee CCPA Request” in subject line of your email.
You may only make a request (of each type) twice within a 12-month period. Your request must:
- Provide information sufficient to allow us to reasonably verify your identity.
- In verifying identity, whenever feasible, Mediacom will match the identifying information provided to us to the personal information Mediacom maintains.
- In general, Mediacom will not request additional information, but if we are unable to verify your identity, we may ask for additional information. Any additional information requested shall only be used for verification purposes and deleted thereafter.
- Indicate your request so that Mediacom can properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it (for example, is the request to know, correct or delete personal information).
We cannot respond to your request if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information relates to you.
Authorized agents may submit a request on your behalf. In these cases, we may contact you to verify your identity and to confirm that you have provided permission to the authorized agent.
You are not required to create an online account with Mediacom to make a request.
We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity, to process the request and for recordkeeping purposes required under the CCPA.
We endeavor to respond to your request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
