Mover’s Checklist
Whether you’re moving across town or the country, a lot of thought and planning goes into the whole process. Here is a quick guide to moving your internet service seamlessly. (or easily) whichever you like.
1. Choose Your Speed:
Mediacom has 2 internet speeds to choose from:
Internet 300 has unlimited data so you don’t have to worry about data caps! But, is it enough for what you need? We recommend Internet 300 for households that have 1-2 users or are only using the internet to do basic everyday things.
To make sure you have enough internet bandwidth for a household full of streaming, gaming, and working from home, get Internet 1 Gig. All of our internet packages have unlimited data, as well as having our Advanced WiFi product included in the package price.
What’s so advanced about it? Two access points in your home work together to create a mesh network. Instead of the two devices working in tandem and creating issues in the areas that overlap, they blend together and make sure that all your devices have the appropriate amount of bandwidth to minimize lag and buffering.
2. Be Prepared for Your Install
-
Power is Required – make sure your electricity is turned on before your appointment. We cannot perform the installation without it, as we cannot be sure that the modem or Advanced WiFi are working correctl.
-

-
Adult Required – Our technicians can only install your services as long as someone, eighteen years or older, is present.
-
Get Going – Prior to our tech leaving make sure you understand how to operate your modem and WiFi devices, as well as have any required usernames or passwords for your devices.
