As the summer begins to wind down, a new crop of returning and new series is coming to television this fall. This year’s small screen lineup is exciting, featuring a mix of returning favorites and intriguing new series. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Season 2

It’s been almost two years since part 1 of Yellowstone season 5 ended and now the final episodes of the series are here.  The Penguin - Season 1

A spinoff from the critically acclaimed The Batman  starring Robert Pattinson, this series dives into the gritty underworld of Gotham City. Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot, navigating the treacherous waters of crime and corruption. This series promises a darker, more nuanced exploration of one of Batman’s most iconic foes, blending noir elements with a gripping narrative. The series also stars Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni. It is expected to premiere September 19th on HBO and streaming on Max.

 Tulsa King – Season 2

Sylvester Stallone returns as Dwight “The General” Manfredi in Tulsa King  Season 2 on September 15th on Paramount Plus.  After establishing his dominance in the unlikeliest of places, Dwight faces new challenges and adversaries. This series follows Dwight in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he sets up a criminal organization. This season is set to expand on the unique blend of crime, drama, and dark humor that made the first season a hit. The series also stars Dana Delany and Andrea Savage.

 The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Season 2

Norman Reedus continues to captivate audiences as Daryl Dixon in this standalone series to the original, The Walking Dead. Season 2 sees Daryl navigating a post-apocalyptic world filled with danger and hope. The show promises to delve deeper into his character, exploring his past and his quest for survival. This season sees the return of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier as a former member of Rick Grimes’ group on The Walking Dead who begins searching for Daryl in America after losing contact with him. The series returns on September 29th on AMC.

 Agatha All Along – Season 1

Spinning out of the success of WandaVision, Agatha All Along focuses on the mischievous witch Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. This Marvel series promises a blend of dark magic, humor, and intrigue as Agatha navigates her own adventures. With its sharp writing and Hahn’s standout performance, this show is set to be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series also stars Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale. Agatha All Along premieres September 18th on Disney Plus.

Abbott Elementary – Season 4

Returning for its fourth season, this series continues to charm with its heartfelt humor and relatable characters. The mockumentary-style comedy about dedicated teachers in an underfunded Philadelphia school has hit it out of the park during its first three seasons. American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez – Season 1

American Sports Story is a spinoff series of sister series American Horror Story and American Crime Story that tackles the tragic life of Aaron Hernandez, an NFL star. The series explores his troubled past, his meteoric career, and the shocking events that led to his downfall. This series promises to be another compelling and complex outing from producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck. The series stars Josh Andres Rivera as the titular character and premieres on September 17th on FX.
