Current bundles
« on: October 01, 2012, 09:07:46 PM »
My service contract will expire soon, and my wife and I are shopping around.  Using the mediacom website I cannot see bundle prices for current customers, I provide my address, and the next webpage only displays 4 internet speed options to Order and the landline phone; I see no HD TV package prices.  What have prices increased to?

Recently a letter was mailed to me that my rate will be increased by $78.90 which results in a monthly service charge of $161.32.  Mediacom continues to thank me for my service and loyalty (it's called a contract) and now offers me to continue our household internet/TV bundle service for only $30 more/month, $112.42 is far too much.  Monthly utility bills never cost this much so I would like to know what options and bundle prices are available if we choose to continue service.  Our tv/video service includes Starz movie channels, if these could be removed to reduce cost then please elaborate.  We would appreciate the continued internet and/or video service, without the extremely unnecessary price tag.

Thank you

Tim is not in at the moment, but I will pass this on to him.  Did you respond via a PM reply?

Thanks for the information so far gentlemen.  Another question comes to mind, through the Mediacom cable website, if I look for bundle pricing for EXISTING customers in my area I am offered 4 internet speeds...no contract required for 12 months.  In one of my pm's the "Intro" internet I was told is $29.95/month.  This is not on the list below.

$9.95 Launch
$19.95 Prime
$29.95 Prime Plus
$39.95 Ultra

I currently pay $49.95/mo for Mediacom Online, please tell me the Launch or Prime internet services are available.  At the price we pay we are above the $39.95 but within the internet speed range of the Prime option!!  Paying more for less should not be a tactic to keep business.  I'd assume I could keep the current internet modem to not incur additional equipment/installation fees; and the Launch or Prime internet would be a significant reduction in monthly expenses and would keep Mediacom as the service provider in my household.

All of the options online for existing customers shows me I can pick any internet speed and reduce my monthly internet fee by atleast $10 minimum, is the website wrong?  Why advertise something I can't have?  "Intro" is not listed anywhere.  If that is my internet option to reduce cost, is it the slowest?  Is it within the Launch speed range just $20 more?

$9.95 Launch
$19.95 Prime
$29.95 Prime Plus
$39.95 Ultra

...giving me a headache (lol)

We have looked over all of our current offers for your area.

Thanks for the information so far guys.  So the "Intro" internet downloads up to 3mbps?

A mediacom customer rep confirmed over the phone that Intro is my only lower speed option to reduce cost.  She however failed horribly at explaining the $164.67, the itemized totals on my bill will always be $158.80 which is printed on my current statement, yes?  Because I do not see the same total I must still repeatedly ask this question.  This shouldn't be complicated.....My bill and every bill after it should reflect some customer loyalty credits that totals to $109.90 every time.

How long must I wait after cancelling service for Mediacom to consider me a new customer and offer better promotional rates?

I have sent you a detailed list over PM explaining the total.

As for your other questions, you do have the correct firmware, and you are provisioned for the correct speeds.

Thanks for checking into that.  In comparison here is my breakdown:

DVR Service 10.95
Star Package (d) 84.95
Digital Showtime/TMC 12.95
Mediacom online 49.95
Highspeed modem 0.00

158.80 (credits of $48.90 on 9/21/12 were added) so with tax my bill now is $113.99.  Do customers cancel service and return a few months later for "new customer" discounts?

If you cancel after a promotion ends the waiting period is 3 months before you're eligible.

Ok thanks, I enjoy service too much.

Tim,
I sent a response to your PM to make the first adjustment to my service.  Please let me know when these changes are made and when they will take effect (next billing statement?).  My wife and I are still evaluating further changes.

Thank you

That is correct, 6 months after your current offer expires.
