motorola SB6120
« on: April 05, 2011, 08:16:20 PM »
About 6 months ago I purchased a motorola docsis 3 modem to use on mediacom. I was able to successfully register it and it worked well up until Sunday night when it lost its connection. I went through mediacom's call-in hell and finally reached a real person who told me that Mediacom had no record of my motorola modem and thought I was still using the rented rca modem.  It seems to me that something must have been done on the mediacom side to bounce the motorola modem. Anyway, I was unable to get it to link again with mediacom and I am back to using the RCA modem. What gives?

I can look into this for you. Please send me your telephone# or account# and the MAC address of the Motorola modem.

I am showing it is online and locked for the 12/1 speed, but won't lock to the 20/2 speed. What I can do is leave this on the 12/1 speed, and then tomorrow I can get engineering to check the head end to fix this. Would that be okay?

Hey Brick, I'd like to give you a heads up what's going on at this point.  I've sent some information to our IP engineering team concerning this.  I hope to have some information back on it tomorrow.  Once we get something back we'll be letting you know.

We should expect this to be much better once corrected, I do apologize for the delay in this matter.
