Thank you for the update.  I will get this back up to local management to try and get more information.

We got word back from the TOS this morning. He would like to schedule a time to stop by when you're home. The signals we see outside are different from what the modem is reporting inside.

Fair enough. I just passed your message along. We are working to get a tech out ASAP for this.

I show your trouble call was completed.  How is the service running?

Yes, the service call was completed and the tech found that the mediacom cable guy had hooked things up wrong when we got hd a few weeks ago.  That being said, the internet was still horrible last night.  My husband was trying to stream a movie and couldn't.  Download speeds were much lower than normal. Do we have a utilization issue too?  Although if there was a utilization issue I would still expect download speeds to be higher than what they were last night.  Please help!!!!

All of the signal levels look better at the moment. I do see the server utilization was over 85% for a little bit last night. Are the speeds better this morning or does it still seem slow? Also, what kind of speeds are you currently getting from speedtest.net?

The speeds are fine now but they have been fine every morning (even before the tech was out).  I'm getting 11mb right now.   I'll just keep monitoring it.  I guess I hope it was just utilization last night which would be another subject (if it is up over 85% at times, should that be fixed?)  Would having 85% utilization make my download speeds drop from 11 mb to 2mb?

When you get over 80-85% server load, the connection speeds to start to drop off a little. There is an upgrade coming to the Carroll IA headend cluster. I don't have much information on what is being done or what the time frame is though. Next time this slow down can you let us know? I want to check over the modem in real time to make sure there aren't any other factors going against the connection.

My internet is slowing way down again tonight.  Can someone check to see if this is due just to utilizations or if something else if affecting my connection?  Thanks.

Your signals look good, though the SNR is a little low.  I will get this escalated to the area management to see what else we can do at this point, or if it is due to utilization.

The area is going to be switching to a new headend on February 2nd. This should eliminate any issues with the speeds you have been having in the evening.

It is all happening again. I'm having ping tests with packet loss.  The speeds are very inconsistent.    This started yesterday afternoon and is still happening now.  The majority of the speedtests I tried last night (when I could get to that site) ended up erroring out because they could not calculate an upload.  This just happened this morning too I'm losing connection to my vpn for work all too often.  I know that they are supposedly going to be doing some work on the lines outside in a few days, correct?  But why am I having these other issues.  Will I ever get consistent internet?

We are seeing the return SNR drop intermittent. I will bring this up with the TOS to see what is being done about this.
