Des Moines Internet Up and Down

My connection is going up and down on a minute by minute basis and has been doing so for hours.  Any reported problems?

Same thing here in S.IL, been unstable for several hours but working at this moment.

Old Bob, I'm not showing any area issues at this time.  Earlier today, it looks like there were some drastic changes in signals- I'm not sure what has caused it.  It looks very isolated, but I can clearly see the ups and downs today.  I'm going to pass this through our outage management group, as it does appear that there are a few other modems offline- maybe a small street issue?  We may not ultimately need it , if they isolate something else, but at this point it may be good to set up a trouble call- at least to track the issue.  I can do that for you now, if you'd like.

I am sure it is an issue on your side.  Just as I have been writing this reply it has gone down twice and come back up.

The problem is that the signals in the area did not drop when yours did.  The other signals in the area have been doing good since I saw yours having problems.  Anything we do in the area is not going to get your service working again, it is something on site that is causing the problem.

I sent private message, but here is new info.  I restarted my router again to no apparent avail.  Did that early this morning.  I had to go out for a while and when I returned about 11 a.m., the modem was not dropping off and all seemed to be working perfectly.  I couldn't use the system for more than a few minutes due to commitments, but when I finally returned a half hour ago, it was still working perfectly.

Do you want to give a look?  Do we need the tech to come on Thursday, or should we just cancel the visit?

I sent you a reply via PM. After looking at your signal levels, I recommend keeping the trouble call, because they are still pretty bad.

I see the trouble call was completed today. I know you said that it was working fine the 20th. Are you having any other issues now?

It has now worked without failure for a couple of days.  I neglected to tell that I was having some issues with my home security system sending alerts that it had lost connection to our Mediacom phone line.  The tech today said that was probably significant.  I had to leave before he finished, so I have no idea on what he found.  Can you check?

I do not see what he did exactly, but it does look like this has been referred to our construction department to determine if the pedestal needs to be replaced.
