DVR reset
« on: November 21, 2010, 04:32:21 PM »
Yesterday I moved my TV and had to disconnect my DVR and cable box.  After I reconnected it my DVR isn't working.  I can't access any recorded shows or record new ones.  It just says the service is unavailable.  I remember when the guy initially installed it he had to go through a specific sequence, but I don't have that.  Could you tell me what I need to do to get it back working?  I have a Pace DC700X box.  Thanks.

Sure, I would love to help. Just to make sure, does you box have an external hard drive or is the drive internal?

Thanks for the info! Here is the proper steps.

1. Disconnect the power cable from the DVR
2. Disconnect the power adapter from the DVR Expander
3. Disconnect the eSATA cable from the DVR and the DVR Expander
4. Securely reconnect the eSATA cable to the DVR expander and reconnect the DVR
5. Reconnect the power adapter to the DVR expander, and wait 15 seconds to for the drive to power on.
6. Reconnect the power to the DVR.

Give that a try and it should allow you access to the stored content. If it doesn't please let me know.

Just to clarify, the DVR expander is the hard drive. Sorry for not mentioning that in the first place.
