How to turn off closed caption. TV  has been set to disable closed caption but still displays?

Making Closed Caption Settings
1. First make sure that the set-top box is in User Menu mode. The front panel should display "ASPt".

2. Press the down button until the front panel displays "CC".

3. Press the right button. Either "On" or "Off" is displayed.

4. If you want to change the setting, press the select button - the setting will change.

What button on remote do I use to get in user mode?

Sorry about that. Here you go:

Accessing the User Menu Screen:

1. Make sure that the set-top box is turned on.

2. Press the power button on the set-top box, then within 1 second, press the menu button. The front panel will display "ASPt".

3. When finished making changes, press the power button to remove the User Menu and return to normal.

Thank you for this posting; I used it to turn on closed captioning on my set-top box.
