no power on modem

Hello all - I have high speed internet through Mediacom, and recently my modem power light will not illuminate.  I've tried unplugging, etc, yet, no power.  When I first plug it in, the other lights illuminate, but not the power.  As a result, my internet does not work.  Ideas?

yes, a standby button is on top.  I've tried pushing it multiple times, with no results.

There aren't any outages, so I might need to get a tech out or have you swap the modem at the local office. Which would you prefer?

We don't have a local office....30 miles away.  I guess if someone needs to come out, that's fine.

OK, tech installed new modem.  He called me and said something about me calling mediacom to do something.  We both had terrible cell connection - do you know what I'm supposed to call about and is that something you can take care of now??

Probably means to provision the modem. Is the connection currently working?

If you are asking me if I can use it  - no.  I mean, it has some lights lit up, but I am currently connected with a Verizon wireless card.  I'm not using Mediacom.

The modem wasn't provisioned to your account. I have that corrected now, you may have noticed the modem reset on your end. If you have a router that will need to be reset as well. If it's just your computer hooked right to the modem, go ahead and reboot the PC. After all that, try to get online.
