Thunderbird Settings

Walkthrough

Ok here is what you do if you have never setup Thunder Bird before.
1. Open thunderbird.
2. Then go to tools and account settings.
3. Then click on Account actions and choose to add mail account.
4. Enter your name, email address and password, then click on continue.
5. This is going to search and find incorrect information.
6. Click on edit and then change the drop down from an Imap to pop under incoming mail.
7. Change the Outgoing to mail.mediacombb.net, change the port to 465 and choose SSL/TLS
8. Click on re-test settings, then click on Create Account.
9. You will now be in the account settings.
10. Click on outgoing Server(SMTP) the click on edit.
11. All you should have to do is add the @mediacombb.net or @mchsi.com to the username so it is your full email address.
12. Click on ok then ok again.

You have just setup the account.

If you have setup an account inside of Thunder Bird before you will need to do the following.
1. Open thunderbird.
2. Then go to tools and account settings.
3. Then click on your mail account
4. Change the incoming server to mail.mediacombb.net, change the port to 995 and choose SSL/TLS
5. Change the Outgoing to mail.mediacombb.net, change the port to 465 and choose SSL/TLS
6. Click on outgoing Server(SMTP) the click on edit. Then change the mail server to mail.mediacombb.net port to 465
7. Check “use name and password”
8. Put in your full Mediacom email address (xxxx@mediacombb.net or xxx@mchsi.com)
9. “Connection security” should be set to SSL/TLS
10. Then click on OK and OK a second time
