Hey Guys,

I will be moving Feb. 29th.  I know we have discussed this briefly, but the area I'm moving to, Linden, North Carolina, does not offer Mediacom.  I would appreciate as a parting gesture that the contract be cancelled without any early termination fee as I will no longer be able to be a customer.

Touching bases to see if there is any update in repair for my area, also just received my bill and it is now 54 a month as opposed to 39.99, will my monthly credit that I receive reflect that difference?

Packet loss is fine at the moment, I can tell when it starts dropping, would those setting cause intermittent packet loss?  If so, hopefully that issue has been resolved.

I was told by the supervisor Matt on march 10 that I would not be billed and he convinced me to stay as a customer because I expressed concerns about being locked into a contract with a company that I suspected would not be able to provide what was being offered in our area.  I find it absolutely hard to believe that I've received credits for almost a solid year based solely on ME saying that someone said it was so.

That was the ONLY reason I didn't bail on the service at the time, before I was into a contract.  The problems started with the install and only went backwards from there.  I was told there would only be a partial credit this month, so I paid what I was told would be the balance.

I wasn't paying a dime, but this month you guys felt that the credits had carried on too long, so I got a partial credit.  My account has been documented heavily since I became a customer.  I spoke with a supervisor named Matt employee 4920 on March 10, 2011 and he advised me the account would be notated in detail that I would not pay for service until the multiple issues were resolved in full.  I would love for you to talk a look and tell me if the notes reflect this.

But Tom read through this thread, I've heard this for an entire year.  Date has come and gone so many times.  I understand that it will probably never be fixed, but I have really tried to keep an open mind and keep this thread somewhat updated for others to see.  So until I move and am no longer a mediacom customer I will continue to post my concerns, frustrations, and findings right here on this thread.  This isn't something I've been quibbling about for a few weeks....this has moved into a year of promised fixes and ordered parts that never come to fruition.  I'm resigned to the fact that this is as good as it gets.  If had any, ANY, other option for broadband internet I would absolutely have taken that path.  I've been a lot more fortunate than others because I had the luxury of not paying for service until it was fixed, but it appears that luxury has up and vanished.  I can only imagine the frustration from people who have been in my shoes and actually had to pay for this shoddy service.

Come on, seems like when I really want to sit down and do something, I can't.   I appreciate the credits, but I'd rather pay for something and receive it.  So far I've been pretty patient because I haven't had to pay, but now we're moving into partial credits for a service that sucks more than it shines.  Empty promises for a solid year.  I don't understand how Mediacom stays in business because according the forums... I am THE RULE, not the exception.

Unacceptable especially during off peak hours, packet loss has been getting really bad in the area, my aunt across town experiences the same loss so I know it's not only me or my equipment.
