Just wanted to post an update while I actually have internet.  Internet worked for about an hour this morning and then has been out since.  Until now (not sure how long this will last!)

I know I have a trouble call on Friday which I am really hoping to get moved up. (Like it is a must someone comes early)  However, they never told me what time the call was for.  So, can you please let me know what time that call is set for. 

Also, how do my signals look today?

Thanks. I would really appreciate a tech coming before Friday.  i get signals sometimes bouncing around but my internet has now been out all night. I guess i do not feel like it is going to fix itself. And i work from home, so come Monday , my internet connection is very important.  thanks again.

Nothing. Tried both directly to my computer and through the router.  my router should have three lights lit up but only two are because it is not detecting the internet. But the power ds, us and online lights are all lit on the modem.

I have also bypassed my router and am plugged directly into my computer from the modem and no internet .

Still no internet access.  however, the lights on the modem and router look are all on properly like i do have internet.

My internet has been in and out for the past few hours. Currently it is out and i am posting from a phone. I called mediacom and talked to  a someone. He said my signal to noise ratio looked bad. He also said that the coax cable coming from the wall should be in the spot labeled in on the splitter which it is not. I changed that. It did not help so i changed it back. Can you check my connection? They set up a tech call for Friday but if i have no internet at all, i need someone here sooner. Thanks.

I cancelled because the internet had worked fine all day and I had meetings at the time the tech was going to come.  Of course, it started acting up during those meetings.  I plan to see how it goes today and I will let you know if I need to schedule another tech visit.

Well, it has been about two months and the internet has worked great.  However, just this past week, I started having the same issues I had the last year.  I work from home and my work VOIP cuts out or I get kicked out of my VPN.  It has happened twice already this afternoon. (I've had my work look into the issue to make sure it is not the VPN and they always say that my latency is all over the board.) 

Will you please look at my connection?

Well, I haven't since he called.  The tech called and basically told me that it is an area problem and they are working on it which is why my internet was dropping out completely.  I asked if they had it fixed and he said they didn't know.  So I may be having these issues for next few days (or weeks).  The tech then reminded me that they don't guarantee internet for work, they just provide internet for recreational purposes.  I told him that they haven't been providing internet for recreational purposes because my internet has been dropping out completely.  Long story short, the tech did not want to come to my house and I'm not sure if anything has been fixed.

I called the support line yesterday and have a tech scheduled for today.  I got a call from him about 15 minutes ago and he said he would be here in two minutes (he said he was in the driveway).  Well, he isn't here yet.  I tried calling him back and he did not pick up.  Did he have the wrong house?  The area code he called from was no where near my house (however, with cell phones that does not mean too much).

In this past 15 minutes, my internet went out again this time for only a few minutes.  It went out at 9:30 for 10 minutes and 10:20 for 20 minutes.  It did the same thing all last week.  The lights on the modem go out.  Please help.

So why is the Mediacom customer support line not open?  My internet was out from the time I got up until a little after 7 AM.  I tried calling that number for 45 minutes straight and got the recording that mediacom does maintenance from 12AM to 6AM and to call back later.  Well, I was calling outside those maintenance hours.

He left a phone number on my voicemail which I deleted before writing it down.  But the tech called before that voice session would have been done (he had told me that would take a week which would have been up last Friday.)

Any updates?  My phone (voip thru vpn) has been almost unusable this morning because there is at least a 10 second lag when using it.

I'm really interested to see if the voice session the tech put on my phone over a week ago shows anything funny.
